We all know that a smooth, clean and engaging buyer's journey can make or break a sale. But have you ever stopped to think about your candidate's hiring journey? ✨
Candidates are shoppers in the job market. Just as potential customers evaluate products or services, a candidate evaluates the 'product' your company offers—a fulfilling job and a nurturing work environment. 🛍️
How to treat candidates as you would customers:
✅ Show your value & reflect your brand: Your hiring process isn't just a bunch of admin tasks. It's a direct reflection of your company's brand and values.
✅ Respond quickly: You simply can’t afford to let a great candidate disappear because of an unanswered application, or lengthy, unexplained gap between interviews. It's isn't respectful and it reflects badly on your business processes.
✅ Keep the process simple: A disjointed, impersonal or haphazard hiring journey will deter top talent, just as a confusing, slow and confusing buyer's journey will send customers to the next best competitor. Streamline your interview steps, communicate clearly and follow through.
✅ Create a human experience: People buy from, and into people. Create a welcoming and open environment that encourages candidates to relax and be themselves.
✅ Be honest: Be as clear as you can about responsibilities, challenges, compensation, culture and expectations. Leading a great candidate down the garden path will never pay off in the long run.
✅ Provide feedback: Show candidates you value the time and effort they have put into interviewing with you. It's the right thing to do and will help your reputation.
Ensuring candidates have a great experience is key to attracting the best talent, and remember people talk! An applicant who is not quite right may recommend your ideal candidate if they walk away with a great view of you.
🗝️ I will support you in developing and executing a candidate journey that wins you the loyalty of the right candidates honestly and transparently.
